Call Waiting

Get notified of a second incoming call with a tone and switch between callers using the flash button, or dial *70 before a call to disable Call Waiting temporarily.

A tone that tells you when another call is waiting to be answered. To answer the waiting call, the subscriber presses the flash button (if no flash button, the switch hook can be used). The subscriber can cancel the call waiting option before a telephone conversation for the duration of one call by dialing a special access code, if an uninterrupted call is necessary.

How to Use Call Waiting:

A beep tone tells you another call is waiting. Only you hear this tone. Another reminder will be heard 10 seconds later if the waiting call remains unanswered. The second caller hears only the normal ringing tone.

To answer the second call: depress the flash button to place your first call on hold. You will automatically be connected with the second caller.

To alternate between calls: depress the flash button for about one second. Each conversation is private and cannot be heard by the other caller.

To end either call, depress flash button, or simply hangup. If you hang up the receiver and still have one call on hold, your telephone will then ring.

How to Use Cancel Call Waiting:

Before making your call, push *70 on your touchtone phone (1170 for rotary phone). You will hear three short tones followed by a dial tone. Place your call. Call Waiting will automatically be reinstated when you hang up.

Notes:

If subscriber also has a Caller ID Box or equipment that has Call Waiting capabilities, the Call Waiting (second) call will show on the Caller ID equipment. Not all Caller ID equipment has this feature.
