Bylaws & Articles of Incorporation
Spelling Out Your Rights as a Member
The bylaws are the rulebook for your cooperative. Along with the Articles of Incorporation, they explain who can be a member, how the Board of Directors is chosen, how elections and meetings are run, and how capital credits are handled.
As a member-owner, you have the right to know how BEK is governed. We encourage you to read these documents.

BEK operates on a not-for-profit basis. Margins are credited to members as capital and retired when the Board determines the cooperative's finances allow.
Capital Credits
Amendments
The bylaws and articles may be changed only by a vote of the members at a meeting at which notice of the proposed change was given in advance.
