A headset seems like a small piece of your day-to-day setup, until it’s the thing standing between you and a clear call. In this edition of ConnectED, we’re spotlighting two of the most popular Yealink headsets we provide alongside your BEK Connect service — the WH63 and the BH7 — and breaking down which one fits your workday best.

WH63: Built for the Desk That’s Also a Home Base

If most of your calls happen from the same spot, like your desk, a shared workstation, or a contact center seat, the WH63 is designed around that reality. It’s a DECT wireless headset, meaning it connects to a base rather than pairing over Bluetooth, and it can link to both your desk phone and your PC at the same time, so you’re not switching devices mid-shift.

A few things that make it stand out:

Range and reliability

Up to 300 feet of wireless range means you can step away from your desk, grab a printout, or refill your coffee, without dropping the call. Typical users report a range of about 200 feet.

All-day battery

Roughly 8 hours of continuous talk time per charge, enough to cover a full workday

Clearer conversations

Dual microphones with Acoustic Shield technology work to filter out background noise, so the person on the other end hears you, not the office around you.

At-a-glance controls

A built-in display always shows the battery level, signal strength, and mute status, so there’s never any guessing. The display also conveniently includes touch controls for volume.

The WH63 is a strong fit for anyone whose workday is anchored to one place but relies on both a desk phone and a computer to get through it, like reception desks, customer service seats, or any office role built around BEK Connect.

BH71: Built for the Workday That Moves

If your day looks less like “one desk” and more like “conference room, car, kitchen table, back to the office,” the BH71 is the better match. It’s a Bluetooth headset, lightweight (about 18 grams) with an adjustable ear hook, designed to go wherever your phone or laptop goes.

Highlights include:

Serious noise cancellation

Four-microphone beamforming technology is built to cancel a significant amount of background noise on your end of the call. This is especially useful if you’re taking calls somewhere that isn’t a quiet office.

Long battery life

Up to 10 hours of talk time on the earpiece itself, and select versions include a charging case that adds up to 20 more hours on the go.

Real Bluetooth range

Up to 130 feet (about 40 meters) under normal conditions, so you’re not tethered to your phone or laptop. Typical users report a range of about 75 feet.

Flexible connections

Depending on the version, the BH71 pairs with your mobile device, PC, or desk phone. Some models handle all three, making it a fit for hybrid schedules.

The BH71 makes sense for hybrid and mobile workers, anyone who splits time between the office and the field, or team members who simply want one headset that keeps up no matter where the workday takes them.

Which one is right for you? There’s no wrong answer here; it comes down to how you work.
